Fishing Reports

10-16-18

Another decent day off the surf, back bay and the Toms River. Blues and a few more bass were reported in a few spots off the local beaches and again mullet and bunker chunks worked for the bait fisherman. Heard of a few bass picked up in a couple spots by a couple guys moving with artificials before dark. SP Minnows, Jetty Ghost Rainfish, metals and swim shads was the ticket. Short bass roaming the back bay and the Toms River hitting small swimmers and poppers.

Small blues along with short bass of the surf in a few spots yesterday. Mullet and bunker chunks got it done for a few guys. Metals and SP Minnows worked for a few guys moving around with artificials. The back bay and the Toms River is heating up with mostly short bass hitting artificials early morning, dusk and after dark so move around if you can. The canal continues to produce bass for those fishing live eels at night. Blackfish bite is good there as well if your fishing green crabs or clams. We have fresh bunker, live eels and killies. The Hook House has fresh clams, green crabs and shiners for the freshwater fisherman.

Mostly blues was the word off the surf yesterday for the bait and waiters using mullet and bunker chunks. Those moving with artificials got them as well along with a few short bass in two spots that we know of off of IBSP. With the cooler temps this weekend the surf could be good so get out there if you can. We have fresh mullet, fresh bunker, live eels and killies at both shops. We have fresh clams and green crabs at the Hook House.
