A few short bass and cocktail size blues off the surf yesterday hitting bunker chunks, mullet and clams for the bait and waiters. Fluke hitting buktails tipped with Gulp "with a teaser" and also Kettle Creek shads. Some kingfish in the area so if you want to gear down with small pieces of clam or fishbites that's another option. Sharks and some rays at night so watch your rods. Fluke in the back bay in between the BB and BI bouy and closer to the inlet. Mostly shorts hitting killies, squid and spearing combos along with bucktails tipped with Gulp. Short bass and small blues by the bridge hitting Kettle Creek swim shads and small swimmers like the Rapala X-Raps (Glass Ghost). Small blues on both sides of the Toms River last night hitting swimmers and poppers in a couple spots. Crabbing is improving so put your time in if you can. We have fresh clams, fresh bunker, live eels, killies and an assortment of frozen baits so stop in and pick up what you need at either shop on your way out.
Brian Lindner just picked up a nice 17 inch weakfish by the inlet on a Spro bucktail tipped with a white Otter Tail.
