Fishing Reports

6-17-19

Another good day with Black Drum off the local beaches hitting clams so if your heading out take advantage of them while you can. A couple fluke reported off of IBSP along with a few bass. The canal produced again last night for those fishing live eels. 2-3 pound Blues were taken on both sides of the river on cut mullet and bunker chunks yesterday. Poppers and swimmers worked on the Ocean gate side at dusk and after dark for a couple guys moving from cove to cove and finding fish. More fresh bunker came in today and we have live eels and killies. Fresh clams are hard to come by but we have plenty of salted and frozen in stock.

More Black Drum yesterday morning off the local beaches. Blues again in the back bay and off the local docks hitting bunker chunks and cut mullet. Brian Lindner picked up a nice 19 inch fluke and threw back a bunch of shorts fishing near the inlet. More fresh bunker came in and we have live eels, killies and plenty of frozen baits.

Happy fathers Day from all of us at the Hook House, Go fish Bait & Tackle and A-Z Embroidery.

Numerous reports of Black Drum up and down the local beaches yesterday hitting clams. Blues hitting bunker chunks, mullet and mackerel for the bait and waiters. Poppers, metals and swimmers worked for a few that were moving. A couple bass reported as well hitting bait. Keeper fluke off of IBSP for a couple guys targeting them with bucktails tipped with Gulp. Blues in the back bay and both sides of the Toms River. Blowfish being taken by the research bouy and off of the local docks. Crabbing is picking up and will hopefully kick in after the full moon. We have fresh bunker, fresh clams, live eels and killies in stock.

Pretty much the same off the surf. Heard of a few drum, blues and a couple bass but that's about it. Right place right time. Blues on both sides of the river again yesterday. One of our customers crabbed the Barnegat area today and picked up 2 1/2 dozen nice sized keepers.

A better day yesterday off the surf. Some blues hitting bunker chunks and mullet in a couple locations. The fluke bite picked up on IBSP with them hitting bucktails tipped with gulp. Some black drum showed up hitting clams. The canal is producing bass at night for those fishing live eels after dark especially at slack tide. Blues in the river again last night before dark hitting poppers and small swimmers. One of our customers picked up 8 keeper crabs off one of the docks in the Island Heights area. We have fresh clams, fresh bunker, killies and live eels as well as an assortment of frozen baits in stock. The Hook House will be opening at 7 AM tomorrow Thursday June 13th.
