Fishing Reports

9-7-17

Obviously not much to report yesterday from the local beaches but for the few who braved the weather in the back found some large blues roaming around.

Larger blues were reported again yesterday from the back and the Toms River. Short bass at night hitting small swimmers and plenty of snappers still around to keep you busy. A large order of Super Strikes came in and are in stock for those who have been asking so stop in and pick one up before they are gone.

Last day of fluke season and not much has changed so hit IBSP close to the inlet and pick up a couple. Snappers and larger blues roaming the surf, back bays and the Toms River so get out there if you can.

Keeper fluke off of IBSP again. The closer you get to the inlet and in the inlet your odds will increase. A couple guys in kayaks did well with fluke behind IBSP using squid and killies along with bucktails tipped with Gulp and a teaser. Some decent size blues were caught off the beach as well on bunker chunks and artificials and in the back bay and the Toms River off of the local docks and piers. Plenty of snappers around to keep you busy while crabbing.

9-3-17

Quiet off the local beaches yesterday as the forecast kept most people away but no rain in the morning had fisherman hitting the back and the river. Snappers on both sides of the river along with some larger blues cruising around as Steve Domanski "found" a lost 32 inch 9 pound blue that hit mullet in Island Heights yesterday morning. If your fishing the local docks and piers keep an eye on your rod. It dosn't look like a beach day today so maybe hit the back bay or the Toms river and do some fishing and crabbing. Fresh bunker, fresh clams (at Murphy's), killies and eels came in yesterday and we have an assortment of frozen baits for all your fishing and crabbing needs so get out there if you can and enjoy the day.
