Fishing Reports

11-13-17

There were some bass around off our local beaches the last couple days and the bunker got pushed in at a couple spots so if you were lucky enough to be there you cashed in on poppers, SP Minnows and even snagging and dropping bunker. Nothing crazy like a little North of us but if you were moving your odds increased with artificials. The boats outside of the inlets who are finding the pods of bunker are doing well on bunker spoons and the snag and drop picking up some decent size bass. Plenty of shorts still roaming the back bay, "The Bridge", and the Toms River hitting small swimmers and swim shads after dark. We are waiting for fresh clams but we have plenty of salted in stock along with green crabs and live eels at Murphy's. Nice conditions today so get out there if you can.

Shorts on artificials was the word from the surf yesterday from a few guys moving around. There are some nice bass being reported from a little North of us so hopefully they decide to show up here soon. Just had a customer come in that had a 30 inch bass hit a Gibbs pencil popper in Lavallette at first light this morning that was caught and released. Heard a couple good reports of a bass bite from a group who fished the canal last night using live eels. It's a little chilly today so bundle up and get out there if you can. We have a nice assortment of STORMR jackets, hats and gloves at Murphy's. Fresh bunker came in yesterday and we have green crabs and live eels at Murphy's.

Happy Veterans Day form all of us at Murphy's Hook House and Go Fish Bait & Tackle.

Scattered is the word. Those moving with artificials are finding fish with SP Minnows and shads with a teaser but it is a pick. For the bait and waiters bunker chunks and clams is the way to go. Just might be a good weekend off the surf so get out there if you can.

A few short bass were reported off the local beaches early yesterday morning from a couple guys throwing artificials and moving. Kyle Kozlowski went out just before dark yesterday off the Lavallette surf and found a pod of bunker. Snagged a few from the beach but nothing and switched to a Tsunami swim shad and picked up a 33 1/2 pound bass that was weighed on his boga. More fresh clams came in today along with live eels to Murphy's and we have green crabs and bunker with more coming in tonight. Get out there if you can and don't forget a bunker snag. There are fish around so being in the right spot at the right time is always a good thing but move around to increase your odds.

Scattered bass off the local beaches the last couple days hitting bunker chunks and clams during the day. Steve Domanski picked up a 24 inch bass on bunker. Those moving increase their odds with artificials with a teaser at dusk and especially after dark. Still plenty of short bass hitting small swimmers, poppers and shads in the back and the Toms River after dark if your moving around and finding them. More fresh clams came in today and we have fresh bunker, green crabs and live eels at Murphy's.

Note: We have Star 7000 and 8000 reels in stock.
