Fishing Reports

4-13-18

A few short bass were reported from the surf yesterday afternoon hitting clams. Winter flounder hitting bloods as well yesterday. Short bass and some white perch last night in the Toms River. Get out there if you can and enjoy this weather. We have bloods, sandworms, fresh clams and fresh bunker with more coming in this afternoon.

The trout bite at the normal locations has been good and we have all the baits you need to help you enjoy your day.

We heard of a decent flounder bite yesterday in a couple spots. Shorts on the Ocean gate side of the Toms River last night. They were hanging in a cove hitting artificials for awhile. Fresh clams came into the Hook House today and we should have fresh bunker later this afternoon.

Starting to see a little surf action with shorts hitting bait and small artificials. The back bay, Oyster Creek and the Toms River continues to produce "mostly" shorts hitting bloods for the bait and waiters and for those throwing artificials shads and small plugs such as the X-Rap (SXR-10) is attracting some attention. We have bloods and plenty of salted pints in stock and we will have fresh clams tomorrow. Hoping to have fresh bunker Friday.

For the freshwater fisherman going for trout good reports have been coming in from various locations.

Pretty much the same thing with short bass hitting bloods and small artificials in the Toms River at dusk and after dark.

For the trout fisherman good reports came in yesterday again from a few spots.

Short bass hitting bloods and artificials on both sides of the Toms River yesterday. Swim shads did the trick if you were using artificials. We have bloods, sandworms (at the Hook Hose) and plenty of salted clams in stock.

Those who fished for trout yesterday did pretty well. The Murphy crew, The Huber Family, Billy Meyer and Hank Prior all had decent catches from various locations. We have all the baits and artificials at both shops.
