Fishing Reports

4-14-14

With more fisherman hitting the beach this past weekend the more reports of some short bass being caught on clams are coming into the shop. There is and has been a good bite in the river right before dark on small swimmers and bloodworms.

There was also a good number of flounder caught and we had a couple weighins but nothing to crack the top 3 in our contest. The 2.52 pounder is still in the lead and there is still time so stop in either shop to sign up.

It was a nice day to be out yesterday and more reports of short bass on clams came in from a few surf fisherman from our local beaches. The last couple of sunny days seemed to have the flounder active in the river and bay. The mouth of Toms river at Good Luck Point seemed to produce some nice flatties for those in boats anchoring up with chum and bloodworms.

Herring off the local beaches yesterday were the reports for those who snuck out of work a little early. A few short bass were caught on clams. It's gonna be a nice day today so get out there if you can.

We have fresh clams, bloodworms, sandworms, killies, shiners and all the baits needed for trout fishing. Stop in either shop to get what you need for whatever type of fishing you are planning to do.

With a couple of sunny days I thought we would have had a few flounder weighins but nothing came in. The power plant is still producing short bass on pink and white Fin S as well as small swimmers like the X-Rap Glass Ghost.

We have fresh bait for the weekend so stop in either shop to pick up what you need.

A little slow on the flounder yesterday with not many fisherman out there. We have a nice sunny day today so maybe a couple flatties will come into the shop and get weighed in for our contest. If you have not signied up yet stop in either shop.

Reports of some short bass are coming from the surf on clams but not in great numbers. There are reports of some shorts being caught around the Mathis Bridge also.
