Fishing Reports

9-2-17

Some keeper fluke were reported again yesterday off of IBSP closer to the inlet and in the inlet. Snappers in the wash, back bay and the Toms River. Crabbing is a pick. We have fresh bunker, live eels, killies and fresh clams will be here this morning at Murphy's.

Keeper fluke off the surf yesterday from a few guys targeting them off of IBSP. Snappers in close with some larger blues around. The back bay and the Toms River have some larger blues around as well maybe hanging out for the mullet run. The night bite in a few locations has been producing short bass in the back bay and the Toms River with small swimmers each night. Those fishing live eels at the canal at night and at slack tide have been picking up some decent size keeper bass the last couple of days. Crabbing is a pick off the local docks but those with overnight pots are doing better. Plenty of snappers around to keep you busy.

Tough surf conditions to hold bottom for the bait and waiters yesterday but today should be a little better. Artificials was the way to go if you hit the beach. Some larger blues are roaming the back bay and the Toms River hitting bait and artificials along with the snappers so if your on the local docks, piers and bulkheads keep an eye on your rod if your bait fishing. Short bass and blues (in a couple spots) hitting small swimmers and poppers after dark. Fresh bunker just came in as well as more killies and live eels so stop in and pick up what you need on your way out.

Keeper fluke off of IBSP were reported again yesterday and this morning from a few customers targeting them. Plenty of snappers in the wash as well so if you want to have fun gear down with small metals or a snapper popper. Larger blues are popping up in some spots off the local beaches, back bay and the Toms River as we had a couple customers pick up a few large blues in the Island Heights area yesterday. Snappers all over the river and crabbing remains a pick with some doing better than others in certain spots.
