Fishing Reports

5-15-19

Decent bite off the surf last night was the word with blues hitting bunker chunks and artificials as well. The back bay and the Toms River is producing blues and depending on the spot and who you talk to the reports are 5-6 pounders in one spot and gators up to 15 pounds in another. Bunker chunks for the bait and waters and metals poppers and swimmers are working for those moving with artificials. We heard their is a good bluefish bite at the canal also especially at dusk and after dark.

Decent day off the surf with short bass and blues hitting clams and bunker chunks for a few of our customers. 5-6 pound blues hitting poppers by the bridge yesterday for a couple boat guys. The bite last night off of the local docks was good with blues hitting bunker chunks for the bait fisherman and some guys got them on SP Minnows and poppers. The Hook House will be closing at 3 PM today.

Happy Mothers Day from all of us at the Hook House, Go Fish Bait & Tackle and A-Z Embroidery.

It was a pick of bass and blues off the surf hitting bunker chunks and clams. The back bay and the Toms River is the news with the blues. Bunker chunks for the bait and waiters and poppers and swimmers will get it done for those moving with artificials. We have fresh bunker and fresh clams.

It was a pick yesterday off the surf and mostly a bait and wait game with clams and bunker chunks. The bay and river reports with more blues showing up is whats happening. Troll by boat with artificials or fish from the shore with bunker chunks and artificials. Poppers and swimmers and moving around is the key. Swim shads and small swimmers are working by the bridge for short bass. Fresh clams and fresh bunker just came in.

Heard of a good bite off the surf already today on bait and Lou and Al trolled up some blues in the river by boat. Get out there if you can.

Some short bass with the occasional keeper off the local beaches the last couple of days mostly hitting bait. Short bass still hitting bloods, small swimmers and swim shads by the bridge along with the blues. More blues moving into the back bay. Dennis and Pat Mullen picked up a few up to 10 pounds by boat as well as Lou Senatore who had a good day with the blues by boat.
