Fishing Reports

8-27-17

Decent reports of keeper fluke off the surf yesterday on IBSP. Some larger blues decided to show up as well along with all the snappers in the wash. We also heard of a couple boats doing well in the back bay in the Oyster creek area and closer to the inlet. Snappers all over the Toms River with some larger blues mixed in and short bass in a couple spots have shown up at night hitting small swimmers with a blurple or black teaser. X-Raps and the 5 1/8 inch (DSPM13F) SP Minnows were working last night a little South of Ocean Gate. We have fresh bunker, live eels and killies in stock at both shops so stop in and pick up what you need on your way out.

The fluke bite outside the inlets has picked up as well with a number of customers reporting decent catches off of a couple wrecks. Short bass in the back at night on small swimmers and there are plenty of snappers in the bay and the Toms River up to Huddy Park. We have Fresh Bunker, killies and live eels in stock as well as an assortment of frozen baits for all your fishing and crabbing needs.

Plenty of snappers and cow nosed rays were around yesterday off the surf as well. Short bass again last night in the back bay hitting small swimmers. Crabbing is picking up on both sides of the Toms River in Ocean Gate and Island Heights and there are plenty of snappers around to keep you busy while crabbing. More Killies are on the way and we have fresh bunker and live eels in stock.

Snappers and a "few" keeper fluke off the surf on IBSP yesterday afternoon closer to the inlet was what we heard. Plenty of snappers chasing peanut bunker all over the Toms River and crabbing is picking up on both sides of the river as well. There was a decent bass bite last night on the Ocean Gate side for a couple friends who were out throwing small swimmers. Cass Golda fishing with his son Frank picked up a nice Birthday fluke yesterday that hit an S&S Bucktail fishing a wreck outside of the old Barney inlet. They also had another keeper. Things are picking up outside of the inlets with bigger fish being reported from a few boats putting their time in. We have all the baits you need for fluke so stop in and pick up what you need as the season is coming to a close in a couple of weeks.
