Late afternoon and evening bite yesterday off the surf as there were some keeper bass and blues around. Not everywhere but in a few spots. Some of our customers reported good catches and others reported nothing. Blues where in the Manasquan inlet yesterday as one of our customers reported non stop action. Blues in the back bay and both sides of the Toms River hitting bunker chunks for the bait fisherman and those throwing poppers and swimmers in a couple coves found the blues. We are loaded with bait so stop in on your way out.

Good Luck to all fishing the Governors Surf Fishing Tournament on IBSP.

Some nice bass off the surf early yesterday along with some blues. Tough conditions but the fish were there. Gator Blues on both sides of the Toms River yesterday hitting bunker chunks, metals, poppers and swimmers. Mostly short bass hitting bloods in the river as well. We are loaded up with bait at both shops for the weekend and the Governors Surf Fishing Tournament tomorrow so stop in and pick up what you need on your way out.

Hook House hours: Open until 10 PM tonight and will re-open at 3 AM Sunday May 20th for those heading to the tournament.

Another decent day off the surf as some larger bass are moving in. Scattered blues as well. Bunker chunks and clams is the way to go for the bait and waiters. Metals, poppers, swimmers and shads for those moving and throwing artificials. Short bass still hitting bloods in the Toms River and blues hitting bunker chunks. We are loaded up with bait for the weekend. Fresh clams, fresh bunker, live eels and more bloods came into both shops.

For the freshwater fisherman more shiners came into the Hook House.

Hearing of some large bass off the local beaches today hitting both bait and artificials. Get out there if you can.

Good day off the surf yesterday with bass and blues hitting both bait and artificials. Bunker chunks and clams for the bait fisherman worked in numerous spots. Metals, poppers, swimmers, bucktails and shads worked for those moving around. Greg Wildermuth picked up short bass and blues on SP Minnows at the Manasquan River. Tom and Kami Gordon picked up a bunch of blues up to 8 pounds. Short bass at night still hitting bloods in the Toms River but bunker chunks are getting the blues attention especially after dark. Swimmers, poppers and shads are working as well. We have live eels, fresh bunker and bloodworms at the Hook House.
