Fishing Reports

9-5-18

A little bigger blues showed up yesterday off the surf and the fluke bite on IBSP was pretty good for a couple customers targeting them. Blowfish in between the BB and BI produced for a few boats anchoring and chumming. Snappers hitting spearing, metals and snapper poppers on both sides of the Toms River for those trying for them while crabbing.

Get out there.

Fluke and small blues continue to be the target off the surf during the day. Some sharks roaming the shoreline at night for those throwing bunker chunks. Bass on eels at night at the canal. Snapper fishing and crabbing remains good on both sides of the Toms River and those crabbing from boats are doing well.

Fluke and small blues again yesterday off the surf. Jim Mathis had 4 shorts and 1 19 inch keeper fluke on IBSP yesterday using a Magictail bucktail tipped with a Gulp pearl white 4" swimming mullet. Crabbing picked up for a few customers in the Island Heights area. Snappers hitting spearing on both sides of the Toms River.

Break out the rain gear, bucktails and heavy metals if your hitting the beach today. Chris LaGrossa weighed in a nice 10 lb fluke he got fishing the Axle Carlson yesterday. Not a beach day today but crabbing might be good with not many people out.

Jim Mathis had a good day off the surf yesterday with fluke and small blues but had to dodge the flies so bring bug spray with the West wind. Heard of a couple decent size sharks last night off of IBSP from a group of guys using bunker chunks. Crabbing was ok yesterday on both sides of the river. Put your time in and weed through the small ones and you will put together a decent catch. More fresh bunker and live eels came in today to the Hook House and we have plenty of killies in stock at both shops.
