Fishing Reports

11-17-17

Get out there with artificials and MOVE.

With a bunker snag just in case in your plug bag.

That's it

Mostly shorts with a few keepers hitting artificials with a teaser off the local beaches yesterday. One of our customers picked up a 29 inch bass off the Lavallette surf on a Tsunami Limetreuse swim shad yesterday just before dark. The boat fisherman are doing well finding the pods of bunker and snagging and dropping along with trolling bunker spoons. The night bite off the surf last night produced shorts on SP's and swim shads. Blackfish opens to 6 fish at 15 inches today and we have plenty of green crabs in stock. We have fresh bunker, live eels at Murphy's and we just got in 6 bushels of fresh clams so stop in and pick up what you need on your way out.

There are fish around off the local beaches but you have to work fork for them. Those throwing bait and waiting for them to come to you are using bunker chunks and clams as the bait of choice. Those moving with SP Minnows, poppers, metals and swim shads with a teaser odds increase as your going from hole to hole. The bite up North is still going on but hopefully they start moving into our area very soon. More Fresh Bunker just came in and we have fresh clams, live eels (at Murphy's) and plenty of green crabs in stock for the blackfish season opening to 6 fish at 15 inches tomorrow November 16th.

We heard of a couple shorts yesterday afternoon off of IBSP but for the most part it was quiet due to not many fisherman out there. A few kayak guys drifting eels and throwing artificials behind IBSP are reporting things are picking up after dark.

There were some bass around off our local beaches the last couple days and the bunker got pushed in at a couple spots so if you were lucky enough to be there you cashed in on poppers, SP Minnows and even snagging and dropping bunker. Nothing crazy like a little North of us but if you were moving your odds increased with artificials. The boats outside of the inlets who are finding the pods of bunker are doing well on bunker spoons and the snag and drop picking up some decent size bass. Plenty of shorts still roaming the back bay, "The Bridge", and the Toms River hitting small swimmers and swim shads after dark. We are waiting for fresh clams but we have plenty of salted in stock along with green crabs and live eels at Murphy's. Nice conditions today so get out there if you can.
