Fishing Reports

6-28-18

Other than one of our customers picking up a couple blues at the inlet on metal it was a little slow off the surf yesterday. Heard of a few sharks last night on bunker chunks. Crabbing is definitely on the up swing on both sides of the Toms River. More fresh clams came in today and we have fresh bunker, live eels and plenty of killies.

"Scattered" blues off the surf yesterday in a couple spots was the word. Anthony Santaita weighed in a nice 9 pound 12 oz fluke he got in his kayak in the Manasquan River on bucktail and Gulp yesterday. Jim Mathis picked up a 10 pound blue and released a short bass that hit bunker chunks on the Ocean Gate side of the Toms River last night. Good reports coming from those crabbing that it is picking up nicely. More killies and fresh bunker came in today and we have live eels.

The blind squirrel found a nut yesterday as a "very" lost 28 inch bass hit a bunker chunk for Steve Domanski in Seaside Park. Aside from that it was quiet with scattered small blues and some fluke. Blues at night on both sides of the Toms River and by the bridge hitting bunker chunks. Crabbing is starting to show a little life for people putting their time in. We have fresh bunker, fresh clams, killies and live eels in stock.

Scattered small blues in a few spots off the surf hitting bunker chunks and artificials. The fluke bite off the surf continues to be good for those targeting them off of the local beaches as well as IBSP where you can take advantage of two fish at 16 inches. Sharks off the surf at night hitting bunker chunks. Medium size blues roaming the bridge and both sides of the Toms River early morning, dusk and after dark. Fresh Clams and more live eels came in today as well as fresh bunker. We are hearing more and more about the crabbing starting to pick up especially from those with overnight pots out.
