Fishing Reports

10-11-17

Quiet off the surf again yesterday but for those who fished and crabbed the back bay, Toms River and the canal did well in a few spots. Melissa Surinski weighed in a 7 pound blue she got in Seaside Park bay side on bunker chunks. Jim Humbert picked a 34 1/2 inch 13 pound blue he got on bunker chunks in Barnegat. The blackfish bite at the canal yesterday was pretty good from a couple of our customers fishing with green crabs. Steve Domanski picked up 40 nice keeper crabs yesterday in the Toms River.

For the freshwater fisherman Trout were picked up by the Murphy crew, Billy Meyer and David Sennick yesterday and today so the bottom line is get out there if you can. More fresh bunker came in today and we have plenty of green crabs and live eels.

Not much from yesterday but last night in the back produced "big time" in a couple spots.

So far today with blues, crabs and those freshwater fishing for trout is doing well.

Stay Tuned.

A little quiet off the surf yesterday as the forecast must have scared most people away but we did hear of some cocktail blues hitting metals. Billy Meyer and Gregg Wildermuth picked up short bass yesterday morning in the Toms River. Jeff Huber with Gene and Virginia Murphy picked up blues in the eight pound range along with a short bass using eels and SP Minnows in the canal last night. There are some decent size crabs being taken on both sides of the Toms River so it is by far not over if you want to give them a shot.

Things picked up a little off the surf yesterday as there were a few keeper bass landed. Nice 31 incher by DZ which was caught on a plug that was posted on my fb page. Short bass in the back last night hitting small swimmers with the SP Minnow 13F's (blurple) doing well in a couple spots. Brian and Cristina Lindner picked up a couple nice tog near the canal. Reports of some nice keeper crabs came in from the Island Heights area as we had customers coming back in for more bait.

Get out there and bring the rain gear just in case.

Pretty much the same thing off the surf yesterday with scattered small blues hitting bunker chunks and mullet for the bait and waiters and those throwing artificials and moving with small metals and swimmers are finding blues and short bass in a couple spots. Chris Kowalski picked up a 24 inch short in Ortley Beach yesterday. Snappers are still around in the back with some large blues cruising the local docks and piers so keep an eye on your rod. Fresh clams and fresh bunker came in yesterday and we have plenty of live eels and green crabs in stock for the weekend.

Get out there if you can.
