Fishing Reports

Blues again off the local beaches hitting mullet and bunker chunks. Metals and SP Minnows worked for a couple guys moving. Heard of a few short bass that hit clams. More fresh mullet, clams and live eels came in to the Hook House and we have fresh bunker.

Small blues off the surf the last couple of days. Mullet remains the bait of choice. Steve Domanski picked up 5 blues on mullet this morning. Fresh clams came in today and we have fresh bunker, live eels, killies and shiners at the Hook House for the freshwater fisherman.

For the freshwater fisherman we have killies, nightcrawlers and shiners at the Hook House.

Daytime bite off the surf was slow according to a number of customers. Just before dark and after dark some blues showed up for the bait and waiters using mullet and bunker chunks. Blowfish bite continues off the local docks, bulkheads and piers in the back and the Toms River "closer" to the mouth on the Ocean Gate and Island Heights side. Heard of a couple weakfish again last night before dark in the river. We have fresh mullet, live eels, fresh bunker, green crabs and fresh clams on the way.

Shiners came into the Hook House this morning and we also have plenty of killies for the fresh water fisherman.

Get out there and good luck.

Don't know about anyone else but yesterday was a little quiet off the surf. We were there from 10 am - 3 pm and didn't see a thing but we were just hanging out. 4 groups to the right and 2 to the left and nothing. A little rough but "hopefully" today will be a better day. Blowfish bite was good in the back for two boats we know of. A couple weakfish mixed as well in the 17 - 18 inch range "closer" to the inlet. More Fresh Bunker along with some smaller bunker that are packaged and ready to go came into the Hook House. More live eels came in as well for those fishing the jetties and the canal. Fresh clams are tough to get right now but we got 1 lb freshly frozen packs in and hope to have fresh tomorrow. We do have fresh mullet.

For the freshwater fisherman we have plenty of Nightcrawlers and killies.
