Fishing Reports

6-5-17

A few more keeper fluke off the surf yesterday hitting bunker and artificials. Bucktails tipped with Gulp and a teaser and Jetty Ghost Mullnuts with a teaser picked up a few for a couple customers yesterday. Some larger bass moved into a few spots as well hitting bunker and clams. Brian Lindner limited out with fluke by 8:30 am yesterday morning drifting in between the BB and BI bouy. The Murphy crew picked up a few seabass yesterday aboard the Jamaica II. More fresh bunker and live eels came in today and we also have fresh clams and killies.

We heard of a few keeper bass already today off the surf so grab the rain gear and get out there.

There was an improvement yesterday and last night off the surf. Some keeper bass, shorts, blues and some keeper fluke were all reported. Jim Humbert had a 25 inch short hit a clam off of IBSP. Brian Lindner and Ryan Sweeney fished the back bay and picked up cocktail blues and drifted the BB and BI bouy and had shorts with one 20 inch keeper fluke. They also pulled their overnight pots and had a bunch of nice size crabs so hopefully crabbing is starting to pick up. Whether it's fishing or crabbing we have everything you need to help you enjoy your day so stop in either shop and pick up what you need on your way out.

Not much has changed off the surf but if your moving with artificials your odds will increase. Bunker chunks and clams for the bait and waiters. The back bay produced blues, short bass and weakfish ranging from 18 - 22 inches hitting Kettle Creek shads on a jig head in the Lanoka Harbor area early yesterday morning for one of our customers who came back and bought 80 more. He said it was non stop action in that area at dawn. We have fresh clams, more fresh bunker came in yesterday and live eels will be here this morning.

Nothing spectacular with bass and blues off the surf yesterday but for those taking advantage of the 2 fish at 16 inches are picking up fluke off of IBSP. The back bay produced a few keeper fluke for those drifting with killies. Heard of a 21 incher from a customer using a Jetty Ghost Mullnut with a teaser in front and a few more on Kettle Creek shads on a jig head. Still plenty of blues ranging in size in the back along with short bass hitting small swimmers and swim shads.

We have Fresh Bunker and Fresh Clams.

Blues, a few bass and Fluke off the surf yesterday hitting both bait and artificials. Still some larger blues in the back bay and closer to the inlet and also in the inlet. Captain Tony Miller from reel drag charters picked up bass and a nice weakfish in the back bay yesterday. Sean Meisenbacher aboard reel drag charters picked up a nice fluke along with some blues and weakfish in the back also so things are looking up. Cocktail size blues in the Toms River along with short bass hitting small swimmers and swim shads. More Fresh Bunker came in and more Fresh Clams will be here shortly. We have killies and an assortment of frozen baits for all your fluking needs so stop in either shop and pick up what you need on your way out.

Crabbing is starting to pick up as well.
