Fishing Reports

10-3-18

Mostly blues was the word from a few customers who fished the beach early yesterday morning. Mullet was the bait of choice and metals and small swimmers worked for a couple guys moving. The canal is still producing bass after dark for those using live eels. Heard of a good blowfish bite in the back in between the BB and BI bouy yesterday. We have fresh mullet, eels and killies.

Small blues and a few short bass hitting mullet and bunker chunks off the local beaches the last couple of days. Brian Lindner and Diogo Marques each got a keeper blackfish on green crabs and they also found the weakfish and they each got their 1 keeper by the inlet. Pat Murphy picked up a couple triggerfish and blowfish. Danny Delikat picked up a bunch of blowfish in the back bay. Choose your target and get out there if you can.

Blues chasing mullet again yesterday off the surf and mullet remains the bait of choice which we got in more fresh last night. Short bass hitting artificials in a few spots off the local beaches. The snapper bite was good again on both sides of the river. Get out there if you can.

Same thing off the surf with small blues chasing mullet and some short bass with them. "If Steve Domanski can catch a fish then ?????" Heard from 3 different groups that the blowfish bite was on yesterday in the back. Chum logs and salted clams was the ticket. If your fishing the canal at night with eels then you know it's been on.

More FRESH MULLET is here.

Blues and short bass hitting bait and artificials again yesterday off of the local beaches. Mullet and bunker chunks for the bait and waiters and those moving with artificials are doing better with metals, shads and swimmers. Doug Nelson fished the end of the North Jetty yesterday and said he had non stop action with blues and short bass. The canal continues to produce after dark with some keeper bass hitting live eels. Snapper bite on both sides of the Toms River was good again yesterday.
