Fishing Reports

3-31-19

Short bass hitting bloods and artificials on both sides of the Toms River yesterday afternoon and after dark. A few shorts reported this morning as well as Bill Peterson picked up his first bass of the year on bloodworms. A few winter flounder were caught yesterday over the bridge and in the river. Mark Chamberlain came in with 2 flounder that he got on bloods. We have fresh bunker sandworms and bloods in stock along with killies, nightcrawlers, garden worms and shiners at the Hook House.

Decent bite yesterday afternoon and last night on the Ocean gate side of the Toms River with short bass and a few perch reported. We have plenty of bloods in stock including jumbos (until they are gone). We also got in fresh bunker and fresh clams at the Hook House.

Another good bass bite this morning in the Island Heights area of the Toms River. Jim Mathis picked up a bunch of shorts along with a nice 29 inch keeper on bloods. We have plenty of bloods so stop in and pick up what you need on your way out.

Still quiet off the local beaches but the bulk of the fisherman are hitting the back bay and especially the Toms River. Both sides of the river has been producing plenty of short bass hitting bloods after dark along with some white perch mixed in. Small swimmers like the X-Raps (SXR-10) and small Yozuri's as well as Kettle Creek and Fin S shads are producing if you want to move around with artificials. Steve Sherman just weighed in our first keeper bass and picked up the $100 gift certificate. He caught the 28 1/4 inch fish in the Toms River on bloodworms early this afternoon. We have bloods in stock and are open until 8 pm tonight. Sunday's hours are 6 am to 6 pm so stop in and pick up what you need on your way out.
