Fishing Reports

6-11-19

Quiet off the local beaches the last couple of days due to the wind and the rainy weather. The back bay and the Toms River was the place to be. Blues hitting bunker chunks and mullet for the bait fisherman and those throwing poppers found some decent action in a few spots. Overnight crab pots are picking up crabs for those leaving them out a couple of days.

Same thing off the surf with scattered blues hitting bunker chunks and mullet. Heard of a couple fluke yesterday off of IBSP that hit Kettle Creek shads. The canal is producing some bass after dark for a few guys fishing eels. Back bay and the Toms River is producing 2-3 lb blues. One of our customers fishing the Island Heights area "right now" came back for more bait. Blues hitting cut mullet. We have fresh clams, fresh bunker, live eels and killies.

Spotty is the word from the surf. Blues popping in and out in some locations along with the occasional bass. It was mostly a bait game the last couple of days with bunker chunks, mullet and clams. The back bay and both sides of the Toms River is still producing blues both on bait and artificials. Some crabs are starting to show up so for those of you who have been waiting it might be time to start. We have fresh clams, fresh bunker, live eels and killies.

A little quiet off the surf the last couple of days. The night bite has been better for those throwing bunker chunks, clams and mullet. Blues still roaming the back bay and both sides of the Toms River hitting both bait and artificials. We have clams, fresh bunker, live eels and killies in stock.

Blues and a few keeper bass off the surf yesterday. Dave picked up a nice keeper bass that hit a bunker chunk and a few of our customers throwing metals and SP Minnows and "Moving" found some good bluefish action. Danny Delikat and crew fished out front and had a good day filling the cooler with seabass and a variety of other fish. Brian Lindner limited out on fluke in the Barnegat Bay early yesterday morning. Mike Collins picked up small blues in Island Heights on metals yesterday afternoon. There are fish around so whatever your pleasure is boat, surf, back bay or the Toms River get out there if you can. We have everything you need at both shops to help you enjoy your day.
