Fishing Reports

8-7-18

A few keepers but a lot of short fluke hitting bucktails tipped with Gulp and a teaser off of IBSP yesterday. The canal is producing bass for those fishing live eels after dark. Crabbing remains good on both sides of the Toms River but there are a lot of shorts to weed through. Snapper fishing in the river remains good. We have fresh bunker, live eels and plenty of killies.

A few keeper fluke off of IBSP from a couple of our customers jigging bucktails tipped with Gulp and a teaser. Snappers and crabs kept people busy on both sides of the Toms River. More fresh bunker, clams and killies came in and we also have live eels.

Quiet off the surf again yesterday. Crabs and snappers in coves on the Ocean Gate side out of the wind.

Aside from crabs and snappers in the river it was quiet yesterday.

Mostly short fluke off the surf was the word from a couple of customers yesterday. One of our customers and son picked up a few Jetty Ghost Mullnuts along with bucktail and teaser rigs and tipped a single hook with pearl white Gulp as the teaser. About an hour and a half later he called back and said they were getting shorts on just about every cast on IBSP. Fred Dorski picked up 3 dozen keeper crabs yesterday as there is plenty of action on both sides of the river if you put your time in. Snapper blues are keeping families busy while crabbing.
